President's Message
 2/2/10
Hey there all,Well, it’s official.  Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and its six more weeks of tourist! We have more than six weeks of excitement set up for our chapter. Not only all of our 2010 chapter presenters are set but also we have the presenters set for the 2010 convention. The presenters are listed lower down this page and the schedule is set and located at the main FSMTA website.
February 27th is the SE Guild Dog Walkathon located at the Manatee County Fairgrounds and we are in need of Chair massage therapist.  Please call Jim Doss at 941-755-5840 if you are interested in attending and helping to raise money for this wonderful organization.
I have just returned from the FSMTA quarterly meeting, and one item that we really want to convey to all chapter members is the importance of keeping track of your own CEU’s. So start a file folder or envelope that will hold all of your CEU receipts for you to reflect on because before you know it will be Aug of 2011 and you will need to look through that folder.
This chapter meeting we have several joyous things happening. Along with having some delightful items for our 50/50 fundraising, our own Natalie Cecilia has donated a full Bamboo Massage Set with DVD for our silent auction ($150.00 value). So, bring your business cards and write on the back what you are willing to pay for this fabulous addition to your practice. The highest price wins. And the best part is our speaker, Dwight Byers is giving a presentation on Reflexology, so STEP RIGHT UP (get it, step with your foot…reflexology) and don’t miss this month’s meeting.  Plus- we do need to discuss and vote on our 2010 chapter budget, I promise to make it short and painless.
We have also started in the planning for not only the convention, but the Sarasota Efest, and also the Massage Therapy Awareness Week. So jump onboard the chapter bus and come along for the fun ride.
Peace and light,
Your Pressie,Brian

What Is the RecycleFund Raiser Project?

We've enrolled in a great program called RecycleFund.  It offers us the opportunity to collect empty laser and inkjet cartridges and old, unwanted cell phones that were destined for the trash and recycle them instead. It's Simple!  RecycleFund provides us with shipping envelopes & boxes, they pay the shipping fees, and then they credit our Chapter with $$$ !!  All we have to do is put the cartridges & cell phones in an envelope or box, seal it & drop it in the mail.  What could be easier than that! Participating in the RecycleFund program means we can be good stewards for our environment & community AND help our Chapter at the same time.
We'll have envelopes & boxes available at every chapter meetings.  Email me at
Viscontigardens@comcast.net  if you have some items that you would like to send for recycling. Thanks for your efforts.
